About this event

Trip # AD2505
Join us for a two- or three-night stay at the beautifully diverse Pocahontas State Park, located 20 miles southwest of Richmond.
There are over 90 beautiful hiking trails accessible in this park. Driving time from Raleigh is approximately 2.5 hours. All campsites have electric and water hookups (no sewer), grills, picnic tables and lantern holders. There are centrally located restrooms with hot showers, and swimming pools free for overnight campers. Rowboat, paddleboat, kayak and canoe rentals also are available at the 200-acre Swift Creek Lake.
Even though the campsites cost a bit more than average, Pocahontas State Park offers numerous amenities including swimming pools, numerous gorgeous hiking trails and nice campsites. NOTE: Pets are not allowed on RSOC trips.
As of the distribution of this newsletter, only campsite 42 is still available in our loop. However, others are available in nearby loops. It’s recommended that you reserve a site soon at this very popular campground as it will most likely fill up quickly since many campgrounds in western North Carolina are in the process of rebuilding from last fall’s hurricane damage.
