Come join us in West Virginia on this "a la carte" rafting and/or hiking camping trip. Choose Saturday, September 19, rafting on either the Upper or Lower Gauley River and two or three nights camping at Cantrell Rafting base camp which includes an onsite grill and pub, a full service restaurant, and a live band on Saturday night!

The campground is adjacent to the New River Gorge National Park. This exciting national park has a variety of hiking trails to your liking. Check them out on AllTrails. There are also nearby ziplines and horseback riding. This trip is a tremendous opportunity to find a smorgasbord of adventure! Please let the Coordinator know if you want to hike.

NOTE: Pets are not allowed on RSOC trips.

The base camp includes the following amenities on Saturday:

Breakfast: Appalachian biscuit and gravy breakfast

Plenty of coffee and water     

Fresh fruit

Lunch: On the river, sandwiches, fruit chips, drinks etc.

Precautions:

The Upper Gauley is an extreme 5+ class, for experienced rafters — not for novices. You must be fit and able to paddle hard (see Cantrell website below).

The Lower Gauley is a medium class 3-5 rapids river.

Cantrell refund policy: Full— 30 days prior; 50% — two weeks prior; none — less than two weeks prior to trip.

Wetsuits: If temperatures dictate, wetsuits may be mandated. If folks have cold weather gear, they can bring their own; if not, the wetsuit package is $25 per person plus 6% sales tax to be collected the day of rafting.
