ABOUT RSOC

WE DO WHAT YOU WANT TO DO because our purpose is to provide opportunities for you to participate in your favorite activities with others having similar interests. RSOC also offers a great way to try new things and make new friends.

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO?

Adventures (hang gliding, mountain biking, and rock climbing are typical)
Camping (comfy to primitive)
Canoeing/Kayaking (day, overnight, flat and white water)
Community Service (Habitat for Humanity, Food Bank, and Special Olympics)
Excursions (nearby and far-away)
Hiking (day, overnight, Southeast, far-away)
Horseback Riding (local, mountains, beach)
Locals (Just hanging out at pool parties, barbecues, and dances)
Rafting (Gauley, New, Nolichucky, Nantahala, and Chattooga)
Sailing (day, weekend, camping)
Scuba Diving (local and Caribbean)
Snow Skiing (NC, VA, WV, Out West, Europe)
Snow Ski Racing - One of the Southeast's most successful race teams

RSOC DOES ALL THIS AND MUCH MORE.

Most of our activities require minimal experience, but for those that require more, we offer training clinics to help you along. And remember, if you want to do something that isn't scheduled, you can make it happen because we are a member run organization.

WHO ARE YOU DEALING WITH?

200 Triangle area members; married, single, families, young, and old with diverse backgrounds and interests that make for exciting times. RSOC celebrated its 50th anniversary in the year 2015 and is a charter member of the Crescent Ski Council, an organization of about twenty ski clubs in the southeast. RSOC is also a charter member of the National Ski Council Federation, an organization of more than twenty ski councils in the US representing over 300,000 members.

WE DO MORE THAN JUST HAVE FUN.

In addition to the trips, parties, and cookouts, we organize activities that help our town and friends around us. We participate in several community service programs such as Big Sweep, Habitat for Humanity, and the North Carolina Food Bank; help Umstead Park, and are very active supporters of the Special Olympics.

GET UP AND GET GOING!

Instead of complaining about having nothing to do, get moving and join us at 7:30 P.M. on the second Tuesday of every Month (except December) at REI in Cary at the corner of Walnut St. and Buck Jones Road.
