CAMPING WEEKEND AT SATTERWHITE POINT, KERR LAKE

Join us for a weekend of camping and relaxing on Kerr Lake near Henderson, North Carolina, only an hour from Raleigh.

This group campsite is perfect, and helps maintain Covid safety:

• site holds up to 100 people, so lots of room to spread out
• site has its own private bathhouse and restrooms
• campsites are in the trees, so it’s shady
• large sandy beach 
• boat launch nearby 
• many — if not most — attendees will have been vaccinated by then

Things to bring:

• Camping equipment
• Lawn chair
• Sun screen, bathing suit, and hat
• Food and drink for all meals
• Food to share for the potluck dinner on Saturday night
• Any boats or floats that you have — canoes, kayaks, paddle boards, sail boats, blow up floats, etc.
• Any extra firewood you have to contribute to our campfire
• If enough people are interested in staying an extra night (either Thursday or Sunday), we’ll reserve another night and split the charge. This site is relatively expensive, $150.00 per night, so we would need a bunch of us to commit. 
  

Location: J.C. Cooper Campground at Satterwhite Point: 

From I-85, take exit 217 and travel north on Satterwhite Point Road approximately 5 miles. The driveway for the group area is on the right just past the Kerr Lake State Recreation Area sign. To go to the park office or entrance station, continue on Satterwhite Point Road about another 1/2 mile. The park office is on the right.

Start time: Friday afternoon, June 4

End time: Sunday afternoon, June 6

Event fee: Sign up by mailing a check (payable to RSOC) to Carol Rowe, 7905 Kingsland Drive, Raleigh NC 27613;

Cost member: $25 per person for 2 nights of camping

Cost non-member: add $10 to the price above (However, save $5 by joining RSOC for $5 this year!)

Cancellation Policy: $5 cancellation fee after May 8. There will be no refund after May 22 unless someone takes your place.

Maximum attendees: 50
