Trip # BT2102
(rain date Sunday, May 23)
Join your friends at Jordan Lake for a fun day of sailing, canoeing, kayaking, and stand up paddleboarding (SUP) Pretty much anything that floats is welcome! Bring a picnic lunch, bring a friend, bring the kids, and enjoy the beach at Vista Point for a relaxing day of sailing, paddling and socializing.
This is the perfect event for our new members to make new acquaintances or members to bring a guest that might be interested in joining RSOC. It is also a great event to spend time with your kids. No experience is necessary. Bring sunscreen, a chair, blanket and/or umbrella, a lunch and something to drink (the park prohibits alcoholic beverages). Vista Point has a sandy beach that’s great for relaxing when not in the water with plenty of room for social distancing.
The only cost for this trip is the $6 State Park entrance fee ($4 for seniors). Please sign up in advance or contact the trip Coordinator to let us know you are coming and so we can contact you in case of cancellation. A minimum of five to six people are needed to help load and unload the boats. If we do not have enough people signed up by the Friday prior, the event may be cancelled.
The club has three Sunfish type sailboats that will be available starting about 11:00 a.m. Others with their own sailboat, powerboat, kayak, or stand up paddleboard are welcome to join us. If you would like to share your watercraft with other club members, please come out and help make the day even more fun.
